Schlage Plymouth Keypad Deadbolt
I picked up a Schlage Plymouth Keypad Deadbolt, installed it and then bought two more. The Keypad Deadbolt lets you enjoy the keyless life. It comes with two default passcodes that you can keep or erase, and it gives you the ability to add and delete new passcodes with ease. A nine volt battery powers the lock, and the lock will signal you when the battery is running low and needs changing.
How does it work? Punch in your passcode and then turn the lock to the right to open it. Hit the Schlage button at the top and turn the lock to the left to lock it. After a few seconds, the lock disengages and just spins in circles without catching until you punch in the proper code to open it. Can't see the keypad buttons at night? Hit the Schlage button and all the buttons light up.
Installation was a breeze especially if you are already replacing an existing deadbolt lock. You can also find these keypad deadbolts for door handles as well. If you are worried about battery failure and becoming locked out, you still have a key option with which to open the lock.
I love this Keypad lock. If I leave the house for a run, I don't need to carry my keys. For most of us, the house key is on a keychain with at least a dozen other keys. So not carrying a dozen or so keys is very liberating. If I can't meet a home repairman on time, I can plug in a new code for him in advance and then erase the code after he has finished. The Schlage Keypad Deadbolt is truly a beautiful thing. |
